Here is the thing about Void War: You command an ancient starship, yes? And your mission is to fight it out through an empire that is practically collapsing about itself. Crazy cultists, space pirates, and deranged imperial soldiers are but some of the enemies thrown toward you by the game.
What I found cool is that you can upgrade your ship. You gather powerful artifacts and use them to turn your ship into a freakin’ monster. The customization is complex; you mix and match weapons, modules, and reactor setups for some bone-crushing combinations. But here’s the catch: your enemies can do the same. You recruit crew from six factions, load them up, and send them into nail-biting boarding battles. Watching them fight can be nerve-wracking sometimes; they annihilate their enemies; other times, well, let’s just say space is a cruel mistress. The game generates freshness through innumerable random encounters: no two are ever the same.
